INDIAN ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETY with support from JAPAN FUND FOR GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT (JFGE) and technical support from RAMSAR CENTER JAPAN (RCJ) is organizing Conference on “Youth Exploring Nature for Conservation of Wetlands and Biodiversity” at the Hotel Hilltop, Udaipur (Rajasthan) - India from February 5-7, 2012. It aims at providing a platform for active discussion on issues related to wetland conservation and wise-use of wetland resources. It is the premier platform for management, research, education and public awareness on wetlands and biodiversity with participants from diverse sectors including the government, research institutions, NGOs, private corporations and the general public.

The conference will provide a forum to discuss threats, challenges and integrated solutions for sustainable restoration and management of wetlands in an ever changing India.  It will provide an interactive forum for scientists, representatives of NGOs, engineers, resource managers, planners, policy makers, students and other representatives from society to share their experiences and research results concerning wetland ecosystems and services. This conference’ aim is to bring together researchers and professionals to discuss developments and exchange experiences in the field of wetland systems and to highlight the present status and future strategies for the conservation of wetlands for people and wildlife.

The conference will be organized in Udaipur where Lakes make a perfect backdrop to the romantic setting of Udaipur. Udaipur is truly famous for its beautiful lakes and watercourses. The city is popular by the phrase of 'the city of lakes’.
