National Annual Conference on Environmental Education (NACEE) during July 6 – 8, 2006 at Bangalore.

Objective

Earth day is an annual observance held on April 22 every year to increase public awareness on the environment. Earth day activities offer important point of entry to address world wide environmental concerns as well as opportunities for individual and community to focus on their local environmental problems. Earth day should be used as a powerful catalyst to involve people in making a difference towards a healthy, prosperous and sustainable future.

Keeping in mind the importance of Earth Day, the Indian Environmental Society is celebrating the Earth day – 2006 with the active involvement of School Community.

The Society is organizing the following activities on the auspicious occasion of the Earth Day:

  1. Painting Competition
  2. Essay Writing Competition
  3. Rally cum cleanliness Drive

(the above-said activities are sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India)

The details of each activity are as follows:

Painting Competition

Venue: D.A.V. Public School, Shrestha Vihar, Delhi
Date: April 20, 2006
Timings: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
No. of participants: 200
Category: Category 1: Std 3rd to 5th (50 students)
Category 2: Std 6th to 9th (150 students)
Theme: Save Earth to Save Life
Note: Prizes, certificate of participation, caps and refreshment will be provided to the participants

Essay Writing Competition

Venue: Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Rani Garden, Delhi
Date: April 21, 2006
Timings: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
No. of participants: 200
Category: Category 1: Std 3rd to 5th (50 students)
Category 2: Std 6th to 9th (150 students)
Theme: Paryavaran Vikas Evam Nai Technique (in Hindi)
Environmental Development and New Technology (in English)
Note: Prizes, certificate of participation, caps and refreshment will be provided to the participants

Rally Cum Cleanliness Drive

Venue: Bal Bhawan Public School, Mayur Vihar – II, Delhi
Date: April 22, 2006
Timings: 8:30 am – 10:30 am
No. of participants: 1000
Rally will start from Bal Bhawan Public School, mayor Vihar and will end at Sanjay Lake, Mayur Vihar.
Note: Certificate of participation, caps and refreshment will be provided to the participants

Prize Distribution Ceremony

Venue: Bal Bhawan Public School, Mayur Vihar – II, Delhi
